Abused 10 year old in Paraguay denied abortion - petition

I've just signed this petition - a 10 year old girl in Paraguay, abused by her stepfather, reported the abuse to police but was ignored, and is now pregnant.

And they won't even let her have an abortion.

Two girls between the ages of 10 and 14 give birth every day in Paraguy to babies conceived out of rape/abuse.

I don't even know where to begin.

There is hope for a change in the law around abortion at least, hence the petition. Am putting this on various boards for maximum traffic, please sign...

There was a case a couple of years back where a girl of (IIRC 11yo) was pregnant due to child abuse.
The Church members decided that the baby (the unborn baby not the innocent child who was carrying it) must be born, and they (the Church) would look after it.

They did 'allow' for her to have a Csection (big of them) so that she didn't have to go through the trauma of chilbirth , just the trauma of a major abdominal surgery

These sort of cases absolutely wreck your faith in humankind don't they?
