The Ted Haggard scandal

Has anyone been following this? I just realised that he's the man who chased Richard Dawkins out of his church for suggesting that Creationism seems a bit foolish. I remember feeling horrified that this person has such influence with George Bush.
Why do so many such people end up dogged by scandal?

Have to say I sniggered to myself. I wouldn't have been a scandal if he hadn't set himself up to be holier than thou. Silly silly man.

The sheer arrant hypocrisy of these people really is marvellous in the true sense of the word. When one isn't sniggering, one is marvelling.
