Love this story from Italy.

So which toilet should the offending MP use? OK, so s/he calls her/himself transgender, but s/he hasn't had any surgery, so is effectively still male. Is s/he transgender or just a transvestite?

I do think the female MP's reaction was a little OTT, but I can see her point I suppose. This is in effect a man in a ladies' loo.

How many takers for a transgenders' loo??

'Sexual violence ... Aggression'????? What on earth is she on about? Have they missed out a huge part of the story?

IMO, the fact that she is making so much fuss only goes to show her bigotted views on the matter. There was a similar palaver about Sam from BB, I really don't understand why some women are being so prissy about 'their' toilets. We all go in a cubicle to do our 'stuff' in private so why the big fuss if we have to wash our hands next to someone who nature decided to put a female brain inside a male body?

Where are they supposed to go? In order to be able to have the re-assignment surgery, they have to show that they can 'live the life of the other sex' for a certain period of time. How on earth can they do that if people are not willing to accept them? ... Oh yes, give them separate toilets with the word 'Freaks' above the door.

The female MP is a "former showgirl" whom I assume has probably come across all gender variations in her previous employment, so can't quite understand why she is being so 19th century about it all.

Quite a few years ago, I worked within a team where one of our members (officially a woman) underwent the process of changing sex, first with hormone treatment, and then with surgery, to become a man. Luckily, they happened to have a name which is used by both men and women, although with different spellings.
The boss talked to each of us in turn, advising us that this person was starting work, and of the various changes that may occur over a time. The question of which toilet was used was simply to use the disabled toilet, which was a shared sex one already! These days, there are such facilities everywhere.
