If there is already a thread on this then apologies, but am I the only one not getting why Samuel Forrest has been declared a hero?

I don't really understand why his wife has been vilified. She comes from a different culture with different beliefs. Don't get me wrong, I find them abhorrent, but who am I to judge her? It's a sad story all round.

Why is it a sad story? Baby Leo gets a good upbringing in a decent culture with a parent who loves him

He doesn't need a 'mother' like that

LovestFromest · 06/02/2015 19:04

Ah you clearly feel entitled to judge her. You must be a better person than me then Hmm

I don't know what the healthcare is like in Armenia, do they have access to scans and pre natal testing? I am assuming not.

Considering that a large number of parents to be in the UK decide on termination when they find out their baby has downs syndrome, it is surely just reflective of the fact that they [in Armenia] don't find out until the baby is born?

It wasn't that long ago that the same thing would have happened hwre in the UK.

Im not saying it is right on any account, but I don;t think it is right to judge the mother based on our own current standards.
