Evolution - apparently we will become either goblins or giants!

"Social division might split humans into two sub-species 100,000 years from now, an evolution expert has claimed. The descendants of the genetic upper class would be tall, slim, healthy, attractive, intelligent, and creative. They would be a far cry from the "underclass" humans, who will have evolved into dim-witted, ugly, squat goblin-like creatures".

I was also bemused by the assertion that more of us will live to 120 years old. Considering the situation with pensions, I'm not sure that society can afford this as it now stands, paticularly as we in the more developed nations are under-procreating.

We'll all be 6'6" tall with brown skin, too!
I expect euthanasia will be compulsory at 70 - maybe earlier for the 'underclass'. Apparently by the year 3000 the human race will have reached an emotional and phsical peak - the division will start after that.
I'm not going to worry about it!

I dont think we have a hope in hell of surviving that long, global warming will see to that.

"Women will develop lighter skin" - how will that not happen to men also or will a woman only pass on her genetic heritance to daughters only??

I'm obviously very advanced as I already have 'large clear eyes' Bit of a shame about the rest of me though - fair skin I can do but even the goblins would run a mile if they could see me sitting here in my dressing gown!
I've got to go to work in an hour and all I've done all morning is put one load of washing in and chat on mn. Shame on me!

I'm 5'11, my dad is (was) 6'4, my bro is 6'5. If DS#1 fulfills his prediction from birth length and my and DH's heights he will be 6'4 like his grandpa.

Mind you the town where I live does seem to have a lot of small people - when I walk through the playground I already feel like a different freaky species .

Hmm. Aren't a fair few of today's beautiful people surgically enhanced? The bolt-on extras cannot be passed on to the next generation.

And I think the evolution expert has left out an important detail of the original sci-fi - the goblins eat the beautiful people in The Time Machine iirc.
