Thanks for the link, I'm not a snooker fan so I didn't know. It is very sad he was so young and had a young family.

Howewver I do know Kirkwood Hospice as that's where my mum died. The careers there were angels on earth. Not like some people may imagine hospices to be.

Pinkchampagne · 10/10/2006 08:14

How very sad.

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 10/10/2006 08:26

Yeah I heard this in the night and was really sad.

There's another thread on here at the moment about who really has it all, well, this guy did until cancer came along: a really talented and successful player, seemed like a lovely guy according to fellow players and in interviews, happily married, only 27, recently became a father, and to top it all good looking.

He carried on playing throughout his chemo, and could not produce the level he used to be at, but never complained and seemed so brave.

So yep, it's really cruel and sad.

AnAngelWithin · 10/10/2006 09:54

Their little girls first christmas will be full of sorrow because she won't have her daddy there with her to celebrate.

zephyrcat · 10/10/2006 09:59

Oh no To be honest I thought he had gotten through this. I knew he hadn't been playing but the last times we did see him playing I thought he was back after getting better. Poor lad and his poor family

GhoulsToo · 10/10/2006 10:04

that's tragic.

CheesyFeetcomingtoGETyou · 10/10/2006 10:18

Its so sad. Paul Hunter was a great player and by all accounts a really nice bloke. I remember he played at the World Championships last year and as soon as he was knocked out he went off to have another round of chemo.

His poor wife and daughter.

Dottydot · 10/10/2006 11:26

OMG - he was brilliant. I love snooker and knew he was ill, but hadn't heard he'd died. So sad.

SamhainWitch · 10/10/2006 14:29

desperateSCOUSEwife · 10/10/2006 14:32
