Well, our local M&S store still has tills which say "5 items or less", so they haven't been that careful, have they?

I read that at first as "glaring grammatical giraffe"...

Oh really? That piece says they have been changed to fewer - you should complain, SMTB, maybe you'll get vouchers too

Glaring Grammatical Giraffe

It was, cod - it's so easy to suck'em in normally, I don't know where the usual suspects are this morning

I read it as a glaring grammatical giraffe as well.

Had problems with just reading the title of this thread tbh .

i was trying to understand thread title

if it was as in "m&s, friend of the pedant" then it was correct

so i kept schtum

Perhaps someone should write to the Charlie and Lola publishers/author. They have the 'less' error in one of the books. Pedant that I am I have to grit my teeth when reading it! And don't get me started on the 'make less strangers' phone advert....

Ah well I started with "pedant's friend" - and then I thought that sounded like "friend of the pedant" so I changed it - obviously not well enough!

Honestly its harder to get it wrong than right sometime's

but i think the "less error" is hte way she speaks
