Little boy has been removed from hospital by his parents

He is very sick, needs constant treatment. His parents have taken him to France.

I don't understand why the hospital didn't notice or alert the police for 6 hours.

The police won't comment on the parents being Jehovah's Witnesses.

It sounds wrong when the statement said he was removed without consent. The child is theirs, should be allowed to be in charge of him, but of course it is he that will lose his life if not cared for and that isn't in his best interests necessarily.

I hope he is found and can be cured.

Hip hip hooray

The Cps are revising the case

WetAugust · 01/09/2014 16:33

Reviewing. Sorry it came out as revising. It's REVIEWING

WetAugust · 01/09/2014 16:34

It was a European Arrest Warrant issued for cruelty to a person under the age of 16 according to the BBC

So the parent are over engaged and arrested for neglect at the same

The authorities have not accused the parents of being over engaged. Up thread TroelsNextCampaignManager pointed at a piece by the Guardian's health editor which says, "They have been accused of child neglect, when if anything they have been too much involved". The article is fairly neutral in tone, avoiding taking sides and pointing out that the hospital cannot say much because of the rules on patient confidentiality. However people seem to be reacting as if the police or hospital have accused the parents of being over engaged.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you've faced Jaded. It's more common that most people believe. We have to put trust into those who treat us so it rocks you go the core when you receive poor care, you just don't think that would happen. But I could forgive poor care or even a misdiagnosis, as happened in our case. It's the lying and ass-covering that I find utterly offensive.

Jadedangel, really? I haven't heard of anyone with a similar story to us yet. Yes they said last month that he would be going into a DDD study and one about people who can't control their body temperature (his seizures are heat induced plus he goes blue when he's slightly cold.)

It's all smoke and mirrors. You can't trust anyone. They told me that the results of the brain scan wouldn't affect how he was but a quick google told me otherwise and then they admitted that it would.

Thank google...

Think I have done everything asked for on here except donate as can't at the moment.
Such an awful story. Their older boy speaks so well

Hurr1cane · 01/09/2014 16:47

Also in our LEA is a special school that abuses children. 6 parents eventually went to the news (6 out of a lot) and the LEAs answer, "there have only been 6 complaints"

There has certainly not. But the average person who reads them would believe it.

I do encourage women to go on radio or TV though. Men usually agree and women refuse (often becauseo f school collection time, family etc). I am one of the few who does it quite a bit and did it 20 years ago and we still get so very many fewer women prepared to do it and I include in this business women too which is when I'm usually called upon.

Where have you seen this? I'm only reading that the temporary care order will be reviewed on Wednesday (which has always been the case).

mrsdevere that just shows how the press work, they have the 'angle' they want to take on the story.

I can't get over the fact a little boy is in hospital with no one :( how can that be allowed?

WetAugust · 01/09/2014 17:05

BBC R5 news announced that the CPS are reviewing the case. It was on just before 5. Pm and repeated since. They are also saying the parents have been taken to a prison to await the judges extradition decision which is expected within 72 hours.

Southampton hospital have just made a statement. Grateful for polices efforts. Believe he has a good chance of succulent outcome if he gets appropriate treatment they have made proton b referrals in the past. Vital that treatment options are discussed regret breakdown of relations with Ashyas family

That's it

Nice cosy comforting just had his best wishes at heart type of guff

GimmeMySquash · 01/09/2014 17:08

Maybe you should have hijacked the interview. Oh how these thoughts do not strike us at the time.

I bet the hospital regret the breakdown in relations. I also bet they are grateful to the police, let me lick your boots officer for misinforming you. SS seem to be blaming the hospital as well. It is like a love fest.
