Another Aussie Icon has died tragically and suddenly - what is going on??

Most people outside of Aus would not know this guy. He was big in motor sport and he died suddenly from a car wreck during a rally yesterday - another shock for us aussies.

OMG, not another one. As you said, I don't know this guy but was shocked and saddened when I heard about Steve, I called DH at work to tell him since he was household name to us and he got me and DH through the first year of DS.

Didn't really know of the bloke but dh does and was quite shocked. Saw it on the news yesterday. Was really shocked that ex wife was giving an interview to the press only a few hours after he died.

yep - private funeral and buried at Australia Zoo - announcing public memorial today.

It was quite strange to pop onto the Townsville Bulletin site and see our next door neighbour's son quoted extensively re the motor man's death. Made it seem much more significant (to us). Which reminds me - must email them.
