Well, often really. I have family out there who have a bomb shelter in their house and have had to evacuate for weeks at a time so I have great sympathy for ordinary Israelis trying to go about their lives. What happened to 3 sch

This is an interesting article. If the Palestinians are unable to leave their homes after the warning they are then fair game as they are acting as human shields even if they are desperately trying to get out the door with kids, elderly and disabled people.

I for one am glad that the world is finally waking up to this genocide.
Although that facebook page had some awful comments that video clip was just as bad and Honey did no wrong linking it. Lets not pretend the racism is one sided.

cleanmean · 15/07/2014 14:22

There have also been many studies about the impact of oppression on the mental health of palestinians who have spent decades living in degrading conditions expecting to be killed. The impact on children is particularly poignant as they have never known peace or normality.

It will take many generations to reverse even s small percentage of the damage Israel have caused. But first the apartheid must end.

Yruapita · 15/07/2014 14:23

Still dont know why honey was deleted - she wasnt wrong in saying what she did. Going to take a look at your link now just

There is so much evidence of Israel's crimes against humanity. I wonder how long the list of its crimes against humanity would read? 'Roof knocking' is a despicable policy. How Israeli court treated the Salha family was despicable.

It seems that Israel cannot rest until it has committed at least one atrocity a day against the Palestinians.

TheHoneyBadger · 15/07/2014 15:08

it doesn't make me feel better but i guess it allows me to stomach better the utter inhumanity people like yourselves exhibit.

it helps me to think that the human pscyhe is pliable and that people are not naturally inhumane, incompassionate and without conscience but that it can be conditioned into them.

the alternative would leave no hope at all for humanity.

TheHoneyBadger · 15/07/2014 15:10

(what a shame you don't offer as much 'respect' to the lives of palestinian women and children as you do to my 'opinion'. that 'opinion' btw is not 'mine' - it is humanity basically, i'm merely following the path carved out by those who have managed to free colonies, end apartheid, liberate jews from the death camps etc. it's not an 'opinion'. it is morality. try it.)

Its funny how people like BamBam resort to personal insults when they can no longer think of any more bullshit to justify Israels crimes.

cleanmean · 15/07/2014 15:55

The massacre continues. Israel has restarted it's bombing as Hamas did not agree to stop the resistance and down arms.

I'm praying that there are no palestinian casualties tonight. I'm pretty certain that there won't be any israeli (thankfully)

Spare a thought also for all the Christian palestinians top who oft are a forgotten group.

cleanmean · 15/07/2014 15:56

The resuming of the massacre is reported by reuters in case anyone wanted to know the source.

cleanmean · 15/07/2014 16:02

Hamas wanted the Israel blockades in Gaza lifted, for Egypt to ease restrictions at the rafaa crossing and for the hundreds of palestinians arrested in connection with the murder of the 3 teens released. Israel refused.

Israel has mobilised thousands of troops.

Yruapita · 15/07/2014 16:08

I was thinking about the christians also having to endure Israel's onslaught.
bambam is that the best you can come up with in response to the completely valid criticisms levelled at oppressive Israel. You are out of order with your personal attacks. I am reporting.

So it's ok to insinuate we, as supporters of Israel, are inhumane and practice holocaust (very emotive towards a new as I'm sure you'll agree). Traits ok is it? But it's not ok after pages and pages of complete bile that honey is called a nob?

I do t think honey has been particularly nice on this thread but we have tried to answer your questions only to be met with yet more lies and one sided bias. It's ok fir us to see you link to a FB page full of anti Semitic remarks - nothing wrong with that you say? But being called a frothing nob? Well, I can understand bam's frustration.

Israel adhered to the ceasefire, Hamas did not. Israel warmed Hamas if they continued that they would strike back. They did. What the hell do you expect them to do? Continue to live as they have for the last year with rockets raining down on them?!

Bambambini · 15/07/2014 16:42

And report away, I haven't reported any of the hate filled bile coming from you - disgusting as it was. So wrapped up in your self importance. Just because you rant the loudest and the longest and shout everyone down - twsting posts, putting words, thoughts and feelings onto other posters - doesn't actually make you right.

Bambambini · 15/07/2014 16:48

And people have tried to engage only to be shouted down and have their words twisted. You have a single minded agenda. Israel bad - Palestine good.

I think you do nothing but harm to the palestinans with you blinkerd, bigoted fanatical rantings.

wordsmithsforever · 15/07/2014 17:02

My precious late uncle, a Holocaust survivor, was involved in this group. This video is informative. See jewishvoiceforpeace.org/content/israeli-palestinian-conflict-101.

wordsmithsforever · 15/07/2014 17:19

I noted that South Africa is held up in the video as an example of how peace can win. My amazing uncle was also the person who educated me, as a white child living in South Africa, how wrong apartheid was.

I see a lot of parallels. As a teenager, when I attended protests and tried to educate my fellow white South Africans about the evils of apartheid, there was a lot of fear mongering along the lines of, "If we are nice and kind and give them the vote they will kill us all." And of course even now it is easy to find examples of black leaders shouting about, "Kill the boer, kill the whites". So these fears weren't totally unfounded.

But sometimes a country just has to take a leap of faith and I am so grateful that white South Africans had the sense and the conscience to vote for change and the end of apartheid, despite their fears. And I am so grateful that contrary to what we taught to expect, black South Africans greeted the new South Africa with restraint, dignity and compassion rather than a chance for revenge.

Not that our situation is perfect - we have a lot of crime and plenty of racist jibes on both sides but it's better than it was when I was growing up. I wish the same for Israel/Palestine, I really do.

Bambambini · 15/07/2014 17:29

That's true Wordsmith. If South Africa could do it and that was a pretty extreme situation that many thought would never move on - hopefully Israel and Palestine can too.

cleanmean · 15/07/2014 17:36

Word thanks for sharing your experience.

Similarly my grandparents survived ww2 and taught me that segregation and degradation of human races was and is unacceptable. Most of all my grandad raged at the thought that Israel would treat a nation so appallingly citing the atrocities of ww2 as a justification for invasion of another country.

Karen you really need to check your facts. Saying Hamas did not adhere to the ceasefire makes you look incredibly stupid. There was no ceasefire. Read the last few pages to see why.

Any supporter of Israel is inhumane. Coming to their defence during a massacre is inhumane. Sorry but you do come across as inhumane as does bam. You are defending apartheid and degradation a and citing self defence or saying the situation is complex does not absolve you of inhumanity.

A 28 year old woman died holding her 18 month old daughter asleep in her bed. To find any justification for that is cruel.

wordsmithsforever · 15/07/2014 17:42

I really hope so Bambambini. When I was a child I can honestly say that the ANC was regarded by white South Africans as the epitome of an evil terrorist organisation. And of course you know how the white South African government was regarded! I would love to see the Israeli government and Hamas surprise each other one day. I think dialogue and organisations like Jewish Voice for Peace are so necessary.

Bambambini · 15/07/2014 18:30

Well if I'm inhumane then you won"t want to engage with an inhumane person surely.

This thread is 700 odd posts long. Probaby about 500 posts have been made by the same few posters who shout down and twist anyone who doesn't agree with them 100%. How vain and egotistical. Most people think both sides are crazy and at fault. They are tired of the whole thing after all this time. Fed up, bored and frustrated - if they even know much about it in the first place.

Thousands of folk on mn and only a few have actually posted. Some probably looked in an ran straight back out again pdq as they realised they would probably be attacked by a few ranting posters who demand 100% compliance to their views.

Shame.

They have said the whole world is coming together - waking up to condemn Israel as the only evil aggressor here. The truth is most people don't really care. They will see report on the news and cry for those dead children then turn over for Eastenders.

justasecond · 15/07/2014 18:33

And how many supporters of Israel are there on here? and what about the thousands that have attended protests all over the world, have you chosed to ignore them. Wake up and smell the shit.

A few thousand in a world of billions. Unfortunately, most people don't care unless they are directly linked.

Al I have seen here is people wanting and supporting peace. For both sides to live freely and peacefully. I have seen no hatred for palestinians.
