Well, often really. I have family out there who have a bomb shelter in their house and have had to evacuate for weeks at a time so I have great sympathy for ordinary Israelis trying to go about their lives. What happened to 3 sch

seriously not one of them has been able to say they disagree with israels actions at all because they DON'T. it's not a reading and comprehension issue going on it is that they agree with what israel is doing but don't even have the honesty to admit it.

so yes, these are the 'moderate' ones and the 'moderate' are ok with mass murder.

Yruapita · 15/07/2014 12:44

Gone are the days when the world would condemn the oppressed. the world is turning on the oppressor now - rightly so. The world can see Israel's tactics and are frankly fed up of it saying it is the victim here.

Resistance is the right of the oppressed.

yes. i think we might also be moving past the 'terrorist' rhetoric in instances like this as well. most people now understand the adage, 'one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter'. we also understand that it is convenient for recognised and back patted members of the world to have their huge mass murdering armies whilst calling fighting efforts by lesser oppressed non back slapped parties 'terrorism'. essentially then their choice, as a people without a military or any solid infrastructure or economy, is to surrender unconditionally or have any resistance labelled terrorism.

that label used to work like a charm on the sleeping masses but the worm is turning.

TheHoneyBadger · 15/07/2014 12:53

we also need to get our heads round the fact that a once victim can become the oppressor and it isn't impolite or politically incorrect to call out genocide and holocaust just because the perpetrators ancestors were the victims.

i would imagine holocaust survivors would find their empathy solidly with the palestinians trapped in that open air prison rather than with the israelis slaughtering them. having met a holocaust survivor not long ago i can say my survey of 'one' backs this up.

cleanmean · 15/07/2014 12:55

Yes people's opinions of israels domesticate or slaughter treatment of the palestinians have changed. Never before has there been the level of outrage worldwide.

Palestinians will not comply and neither will the world. We must learn from the treatment of the native American Indians, the aborigines, the Indians and the south Africans. Oppression will only create resistance.

TheHoneyBadger · 15/07/2014 12:55

(this survivor talked also about how terrified they were about the general rhetoric worldwide about 'muslims' and how much it resonated for them with their own history. there are few survivors left now and i felt truly privileged to meet this guy and take a group of students to hear him talk and answer their questions)

TheHoneyBadger · 15/07/2014 13:00

honestly people who have genuinely been victims of horrific crimes like that can't go on to be blind when the same crimes are being inflicted upon others.

the world has tried to learn so much from the holocaust and actually it really, really has in many instances. yet israel..... ??

it's time to stop reparations and stop the flood of western money that is supporting this blight upon the earth.

fukkigucci · 15/07/2014 13:12

I support Israel. I support Israel's right to exist. I support Israel's right to defend itself.
I have lived, studied and worked in Israel for many many years. And I have worked alongside Israeli Arabs and Palestinian Arabs. Most Israelis aren't extremists of either left or right wing ideologies. They just want to live in peace.

fukkigucci · 15/07/2014 13:14

And I think you'll find that another message Israel took from the Holocaust, is "you say you want to kill us, we will take you seriously."

TheHoneyBadger · 15/07/2014 13:15

by defend itself do you mean you support the murdering of refugees we've witnessed this week? as in rather specifically what do you mean by supporting it's right to defend itself? it's right to exist you support ok, it's right to mass murder, to steal land, to terrorise another population? is that all ok?

BillyBobbed · 15/07/2014 13:16

Really? You support Israel's right to exist? Even though it's stolen land and came about through a corrupt transaction?

Ordinary Israelis have done nothing wrong but the Zionist leaders hiding behind the 'Jew' facade need to be exposed for their lies and war crimes.

cleanmean · 15/07/2014 13:16

Do you support palestines right to exist too?

TheHoneyBadger · 15/07/2014 13:18

the israel you refer to didn't really exist at that point. and the people who saw to ensuring it existed happily sacrificed millions of jewish lives to gain it.

halfdrunkcoffee · 15/07/2014 13:19

I think Ayelet Shaked's comments are horrific and she should resign. I can only hope her views are not more widely shared, otherwise there is little hope of peace.

I saw this programme about children in Gaza a few years ago. Many of the children were playing at fighting and killing, which is not surprising given the horrific events they have experienced. "According to Neumann [film producer] nothing will change until the blockade around Gaza is lifted: "Whilst they are kept encaged around male mentors who seek a violent answer they are more than likely to become fighters."

There are some organisations that offer a glimmer of hope, to counter the extremism, for example Combatants for Peace, Breaking the Silence, Parents' Circle, B'T Selem, Yesh Gvul are just the ones I know about.

cleanmean · 15/07/2014 13:19

It's clear now that the self defence/human shields/protecting our people chants are just diversionary tactics.

Many many Jews in Israel and especially worldwide deplore the actions of Israel. This isn't about religion. It's about those with humanity standing together to say we are not going to stand and watch another genocide. No, not again and not on our watch.

Bambambini · 15/07/2014 13:23

Did someone just compare the israeli/ palestinian situation with NI?
Honeybadge, I'm not surprised you have been deleted. Your non stop froth spitting hatred against anything israeli has been disguting. Have read such a load of hate filled crap.

fukkigucci · 15/07/2014 13:25

I don't support the terrorist organisation Hamas, and believe that Israel is correct in defending itself against them. Hamas use civilian and civilian buildings as human shields and rocket stores. I'm desperately sad at the Palestinian deaths that have happened, but I think that these are a direct result of Hamas actions - sending rockets into Israel, and keeping civilians in these areas.
I happily support a one or two state solution, whatever works.

And it's utter bullshit to say that Zionists caused the deaths of millions of Jews in the Holocaust. I will not address one more word towards this.

BillyBobbed · 15/07/2014 13:26

Yes I do and will always support palestines right to exist and I believe they should be given back their land. Look at how narrow the Gaza Strip has become over the years. Israel are shameless, arrogant and depend on big brother US. They're both conniving terrorists who operate under a facade of appearing to combat 'terrorism'. The lies and war crimes from those two countries in particular are immense on their scale. I am of Jewish extraction myself and they are hiding behind the religion and trying to get us to believe Muslims are terrorists and the bad eggs of society.

My opinion, that's all.

BillyBobbed · 15/07/2014 13:29

fukkigucci you know perfectly well I never write zionists caused the holocaust? Are you right in the head or just deliberately inciting bollocks? The latter most likely.

cleanmean · 15/07/2014 13:30

Billy my question was addressed to fukki but thanks for answering. I feel the same as you.

Fukki - too many people have believed the lies about Hamas hiding weapons in civilian homes. The news is awash with palestinians running for their lives and begging to live in peace. The rehab hospital that was bombed contained no weapons and this was verified by international charities present there. The truth is that israeli bombing has been indiscriminate and this is verified by the fact that over 80% of the casualties are women and children.

fukkigucci · 15/07/2014 13:31

I'm in my phone, and answered a couple of posters in one post. That ok with you billybobbed?

TheHoneyBadger · 15/07/2014 13:34

i never said they 'incited' it either - but i did link earlier to contemporary zionist leaders blocking repatriation of jews and refusing any 'out' package that didn't include palestine. also contemporaries saying how a million jewish lives in europe were worth one jew in palestine.

as for hate filled bile - no. i don't believe i have done that. and no i didn't compare NI to israel i talked about how the NI issue would have looked if england had had the same concept of 'defending itself' as israel takes.

fukkigucci · 15/07/2014 13:34

Clean.
I've seen videos and pictures that prove my point too. That innocents are being told it's 'anti Islam' to refuse to allow weapons etc to be stored in homes. That's it's not allowed to listen to Israeli propaganda and go to shelters and safe rooms.
