Well, often really. I have family out there who have a bomb shelter in their house and have had to evacuate for weeks at a time so I have great sympathy for ordinary Israelis trying to go about their lives. What happened to 3 sch

You think Hamas wanted this? And use it to strengthen support from.the world? That is a really despicable thing to say.

Israel literally is bombing a refugee camp to death and when the press report on the atrocities Hamas are blamed for orchestrating it? So now the palestinians are at fault for being filmed being murdered? The images need to be seen by the world just as they were during ww2, the Rwanda genocide, the balkans conflict etc.

I will be the first to condemn Hamas when they start killing women children the elderly and the disabled. Are you willing to condemn Israel's murders?

donnie · 13/07/2014 11:54

'Take it to the UN'- how risible. If you had any intelligence you would know that has already been done, several times. The UN has passed resolutions against the occupation but Israel has ignored them. It's a shame you aren't up to speed with international and political developments.

and just so you know - as long as the Israeli Govt continues its practice of land theft and farm theft, there will be retaliation. After all, if you 'poke a dog long enough with a stick, it'll bite you'.Smile

AnyaKnowIt · 13/07/2014 11:54

Why would hamas do this if they didn't want it?

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:00

total news blackouts as usual

am sharing stuff like that on facebook so that middle eastern friends and contacts know that david bloody cameron does not represent the views of the uk.

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:00

oh their just death seeking aren't they? anya. tell us again how hundreds of women and children deserve to die.

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:01

or go rinse the brainwashing out with bleach and inject some humanity in it's place.

Backinthering · 13/07/2014 12:04

I always understood self-defence as being proportionate. This is so far from a proportionate response it would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic and sickening.

AnyaKnowIt · 13/07/2014 12:06

Right, I was up for a debate but that doesn't seem possible now does it

Disagree with what I say fine.
Twist my word, make PA comments, fine fault with how many words I use and general insults then I'm off.

I wish you all well and I do honestly hope for the bloodshed on both sides stop. Would wish for peace but its looking further and further away

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:08

people are dying anya - it's not all about you. and you're right peace is looking further and further away - israel is chasing it further and further away and seem determined to start a massive war in the region whilst convinced we'll all back them up. probably our corrupt governments will do that but don't expect average human beings to drink the kool aid.

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:09

(self defense - you trod on my toe so i'm going to kill your family. hmm wouldn't fly in court would it?)

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:11

i'm honestly beginning to think this is deliberate and israel wants to provoke iran to action and is quietly being supported to do so by western powers keen to destroy iran. i hope i'm paranoid but the track records of the powers in question are atrocious.

donnie · 13/07/2014 12:12

No Anya, debate isn't really possible when you aren't even aware of the most basic political facts like the existence of UN Resolutions 446 and 465 is it?

So, you toddle off and read up a little. Then you can come back and tell us all what you 've learned Smile.

Oh and the 'dog' analogy? that was yours. Sorry if you didn't like it being used again but it fitted perfectly.

donnie · 13/07/2014 12:13

Honey - the Iran thing? my dh and I have thought that for years .

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:25

recently there's been a whole lot of ooh they're going nuclear, ooh they're getting too big etc going around and then with this isis business.... i just think they're spoiling for it and it 'seems' like the US was up for it and then pulled back and now israel is escalating to force hands. obviously just a theory and i hope to god i'm wrong.

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:27

you know what's ironic as well in this whole double standards house of cards - we hear the 'egypt or jordan should come and talk down hammas/intervene/etc' well funnily enough i imagine the arab world thinks that america or the uk (who created this situation) should come and intervene and make israel start following the laws we supposedly hold so dear and usually bomb the hell out of nations for not following if the profit is high enough.

everything is framed from the perspective of the palestinians being the problem.

it's actually mindblowingly distorted in western media.

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:30

i think 'some' of us are exposing ourselves to worldwide news outlets these days and seeing a much broader picture and set of perspectives on world events and geopolitics. yet our domestic media still acts like it's the cold war era and people are that propaganda prone.

i think maybe the biggest voters of our society are pensioners? and they are less likely to be more widely exposed to world media? when that generation dies i'm curious as to what will happen with the media and government in this country because they will have to majorly up their game or...? go over to china style media control?

Bambambini · 13/07/2014 12:30

"I will be the first to condemn Hamas when they start killing women children the elderly and the disabled. Are you willing to condemn Israel's murders?"

You only condemn the Israelis - you don't condemn Hamas? You are right, I'd forgotten how cuddly and humane Hamas is.

So you thought Hamas possibly having a part and celebrating the deaths of those 3 boys was not worth condemning?

cleanmean · 13/07/2014 12:33

Of course the US and the UK are waiting for Iran to make a move. Even one statement in support of palestine and the US will deploy more forces to the region.

If this happens then it will be an absolute disaster for the whole world. Israel, funded by the US, has stockpiled the largest range of nuclear weapons in that region.

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:33

hundreds are dead. how many women and children need to die before you'll feel avenged enough for three boys bambam?

what is the ratio on value of life? 200 palestinian to one xionist life? maybe a thousand to one? that seems more like the running 'score' in this atrocity.

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:34

centuries of hell for oil.

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:35

now there's an interesting ratio to work out - how many lives is one barrel of oil worth? ratio is running pretty high by now surely?

cleanmean · 13/07/2014 12:35

Bam I outright condemn the deaths of the 3 teens any anyone celebrating it. The loss of any life is distressing. But I repeat, I will condemn Hamas when they take the lives of innocents and I condemn their firing of rockets into Israel. Now will you think of condemning Israel's murders committed in the full glare of the world this past week?

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:40

and in the full glare of a very volatile world where it could incite war at that? even if you're ok with palestinian women and children dying is that responsible world citizenship?

TheHoneyBadger · 13/07/2014 12:43

you're basically smoking and throwing your butts around in a firework factory. thanks for that. even if you've drank the kool aid enough to think palestinians are all terrorist dogs that deserve to die, and if you've drank it from the breast onwards i can see how that could happen, but even if you've got that inscribed in your dna are you cool about sending the world into a massive war? cool with hundreds of thousands dying in air strikes and yet another nation being destroyed for decades to come with all the subsequent damage that wreaks upon the whole world community for decades and decades to come?

what ratio of israeli life to the rest of the world's life are you seeking? 1:300,000?
