I hope so.

Really, really hope so. Horrible ordeal for the family. Hope they can get to the US and have a quiet, fulfilling life now.

Its good to know she's safe in that U.S Embassy building at least - and can recover a bit there from her ordeal. Hopefully they have a nice room and bathroom and some good food.

Why can't the Sudanese authorities leave her alone and just let her leave the country with her husband.

ohmymimi · 24/07/2014 14:40

Meriam and her family have arrived in Italy earlier today. Great news.

That's fantastic to hear. So glad they are finally free.

I'm relieved - just hope somehow Meriam and her family find some way to recover from such a horrible ordeal. What it will have done to her and her children doesn't bear thinking about.

I hope Amnesty keeps a very close eye on Sudan to help to stop anyone else suffering such a terrible fate.
