i hate the patronising graphics. all that rubbish 'writing' on the wall in the mike baker schools report. how dumb do the bbc think we are?

They are going for the yoof market I presume.

HuwEdwards · 06/09/2006 22:23

agree, bloody irritating. Should come with a warning.....'Caution, may contain news'

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 06/09/2006 22:32

even panorama last night was infected. moody shot of reporter standing in warehouse with enormous image of a gun projected onto the wall behind him. why?!

have a word huw...

OP posts:
HuwEdwards · 06/09/2006 22:35

consider it done.

edam · 06/09/2006 22:37

hmmmm do you know, I'm just beginning to have a very slight suspicion you may not be the Huw Edwards given you were posting at 10.23.

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 06/09/2006 22:57

either huw isn't who he claims he is or they're not even doing the news live anymore.
i think we should be told!
you record it don't you huw? admit it! the final insult to the audience.
it was only a matter of time.

and Mastermind is getting easier
even the general knowledge questions

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 06/09/2006 22:59

I so agree. They're such a load of bobbins. DH and I are often to be found hurling abuse at them

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 06/09/2006 23:01

Mastermind is not getting easier. I am getting more knowledgeable.

hunkermunker · 06/09/2006 23:05

Kirsty Wark just said "blogtastic"

Crikey bikey

Orlando · 06/09/2006 23:07

Sat there in wine induced stupor squinting at screen and wondering why the writing didn't line up with the perspective lines on the brickwork during that report. I mean, if they're trying to persuade us it's graffiti they should have made sure it was done properly, surely?

What was the article about again?

Gingerbear · 06/09/2006 23:13

and why are they standing up? (a la ITN)

Gingerbear · 06/09/2006 23:14

and why is Natasia kerplunky still on 6 o'clock news?

HuwEdwards · 06/09/2006 23:23

You know the newsreaders have laptops in front of them whilst reading the news? Well I Mumsnet while you listen to the various foreign correspondents...oh yes and when you all bugger off to hear your 'local' news.

ediemay · 06/09/2006 23:27

I don't believe you, you're shopping for fetish gear

HuwEdwards · 06/09/2006 23:29

Nope, had to put the breaks on the fetish gear since we've been directed to stand whilst presenting.

ediemay · 06/09/2006 23:30
Grin
EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 07/09/2006 12:38

'blogtastic'?!?! that warrants a complaint to the duty log. shocking.

OP posts:
Tutter · 07/09/2006 12:42

huw, can i just say that i'm not at all keen on your ties. does mrs huw buy them (is there a mrs huw?) or is there a bbc news stylist?

HuwEdwards · 07/09/2006 14:38

Tutter I make them all myself.

southeastastra · 07/09/2006 14:41

i wish the newsreader (whatever his name is) would sort his make up out!! he looks like max headroom

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 07/09/2006 16:19

i like your ties huw. and i think you are a very nice man and also like your accent. just wish there were fewer boring 'rp' voices on the bbc. can't you bang your drum on this?! esp radio four. hour after hour of polite middle class accents. it drives me INSANE. just snobbery. rant rant.
