BBC news says that today in the queen speech the following was announced: Tougher powers to seize the assets of crime bosses, tackle cyber crime and make possession of written paedophilia a criminal offence
Can anyone explain what this means? I was actually quite taken aback to read this - what does written paedophillia mean, and does it mean a gagging order for fiction, erotic manage schoolgirl fiction, etc on the subject, or is it something much more obvious?
Of course, like any parent, I find paedophillia abhorent, but just wondered if this law is actually a terrible step towards losing freedom of speech - as in, we can write about a murder, but would texts like Lolita now be illegal?
