It never ends - another huge child abuse scandal about to unfold

I watched that Panorama programme about how Savile (DR Savile as he was called) was able to implement policy at Broadmoor. [Message edited by MNHQ to remove potential libel/contempt of court.] And while he was there he abused vulnerable inmates. The very few who spoke out were either ignored or if they were staff, threatened with the sack if they didn't shut up.

Remember Liz Mckean from the BBC who got Savile's victims to speak on Newsnight? And the documentary was axed by the BBC? They couldn't openly fire her, so they froze her out instead. She was ignored, her colleagues, all weasely BBC 'lifers' pretended she was invisible. She had to leave the BBC, because the white, middle class men who run it were angry at her for being right.

Then today I saw on the BBC news website that Phil Shepherd, a Health Professional, wrote a report on the widespread sexual abuse of boys at Knowl View School in Rochdale. Boys as young as 8 were plied with alcohol and forced to work as prostitutes. The report was 'buried'. When did this happen? In 1991.

I'm sorry I'm shit at links:

Rochdale you might remember was at the centre of yet another horrible case - where young girls were trafficked and sexually abused, but when they asked for help, the fact that they came from 'difficult' or chaotic backgrounds, counted against them.

What really makes me want to puke is after all this mea-culpa-ing and 'this must never happen again' bollocks is the realisation that paedophiles and abusers nearly always pick on the vulnerable, the ones who are less likely to be believed, the children from care homes.

And children from care homes are regarded as second class, 'no better than they ought', somehow less worthy of our protection. But nothing changes. Children from care homes are targeted and shockingly abused. They try to report it. They are ignored. Years and years go by and finally possibly, it all starts to leak out, like sewage. The Establishment Makes a Statement about how it will 'Never Happen Again.' And it does. Over and Over.

It makes me want to cry and scream.

You are quite right to want to cry and scream. I hope after the recent Rochdale/Oxford etc. gang rape & grooming convictions that more care is being taken to protect vulnerable young people. But sadly I'm sure there are children being exploited and abused right now.

It makes me want to cry and scream too. It's all just too horrible to process.

Hello Gingermum

Just to let you know, we've edited out one sentence from your OP because it was potentially both libellous and in contempt of court.

Thanks
