I was amazed at the footage of the cat body ramming the dog attacking the kid. The attack itself was horrific and unprovoked, and the wee lads leg was a mess. I think the moggy released it's inner tigress at that moment.

Both my cats went to the litter box in the sky a couple of years ago. The footage has made me broody for a new cat. The DCs would be over the moon......

I was really shocked at the sheer determination and single mindedness of that dog - he saw that little boy, and decided to go for him totally unprovoked. If it wasn't on CCTV I wouldn't have believed it.

The cat was amazing, I wonder what motivated him, since I didn't think cats had any sort of 'protect the pack' mentality. Perhaps it's just instinctive when they see an attack happen to fend it off.

Dread to think what state that poor little boy's leg would have been in had the cat not jumped in so quick, although the boy's mother was there pretty quickly as well.

I'm a big dog lover, but I do hope that dog was put down for everyone's sake, it really isn't safe.

I was wondering if the cat had like a mother instinct to protect its young.

That dog was just evil the way it approached the boy round the back of the car and then viciously shaking on his leg with its teeth.
