Ironic indeed.

Strange how the test cases never seem to be the 'right' ones though. This type of alleged fraud, where people are persuaded to 'invest' in land that has no planning permission, has been an issue for years. I have no idea whether these particular defendants are guilty or not, obv. But the central charge (if what I read is right) is not a new phenomenon.

Lots of barristers have been protesting about the changes to legal aid.

I don't see why any particular one should be restrained from making a relevant argument because of family circumstances.

Nor should policy making (whether the policy is good or bad) be influenced by the occupations of the PM's relations. (Unless you want rule by a nepotistic oligarchy).
