Nell McAndrew has given birth to a baby son

English glamour model-turned-TV presenter Nell McAndrew has given birth to a baby son, just two years after losing another unborn child to complications in pregnancy.

The 32-year-old burst into tears recalling the birth yesterday, insisting "I can't take my eyes off him."

Devon is McAndrew and husband Paul Hardcastle's first child together.

Baby joy for model Nell McAndrew
Model Nell McAndrew has given birth to a boy.

The baby, called Devon, arrived in the early hours of this morning, a week early, weighing 7lb 8oz.

McAndrew's property developer husband, Paul Hardcastle, and mother, Nancy, were present for the birth at St James's Hospital, Leeds.

"Nell and Paul are unbelievably happy," a spokeswoman for the model said. "The birth was natural and totally drug-free.

"They didn't choose Devon because he was conceived there, Posh and Becks-style. They just really liked the name, simple as that."

The couple's baby joy comes almost a year after McAndrew's first pregnancy ended in heartbreak.

She had to have a termination at three months last September after discovering the unborn baby had amniotic band disorder, a rare syndrome which meant the child would not survive.

i've had a soft spot for her ever since the documentary of that guy with some dreadful genetic disorder. she's such a sweetie.

I remember that Tutter. great documentary, and agree that it really made me warm to her. A lovely down to earth woman, the kind of person you'd like to have as a friend.
