Israel/Lebanon -- what is the UN plan?

Is it just me, or do other people think we lack a complete plan here. We have a cease fire, and some kind of intention to deploy troops. But who is going? How many? For how long? What is their objective? And does Israel have a right to say only countries who acknowledge Israel's existance can take part?

Israel Alarm at UN Force members

Aim: to prevent Hezbollah attacking Israel from southern Lebanon.

Make-up: ground-troops pledged by France, Bagladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia and Nepal amongst others. BBC news has a full list.

Duration: I'm not sure.

Numbers: believe there is an intention to send 15 000 in total.

Troops are going to be on Lebanese soil, not Israeli, so you could argue that the Israelis have no right to dictate the composition of the UN force. On the other hand, it could lead to people questioning the independence of the mission, which would undermine the UN.

But, 15000 have not signed up. And, Israel is objecting to some of the volunteers.

One might argue that if the troops don't support the existance of Israel, then they might not really be motivated to restrict Hezbollah's activities.

So, do I take that I am alone and everyone else thinks this is a well planned mission that is going to run smoothly.
