Alexandria Hollinghurst - suicide notes released by police.

The US police have released the suicide notes Alexandria Hollighurst and her boyfriend wrote before killing a police officer and themselves.
The one to her mum is so awful, so angry and bitter. It makes me feel absolutely ill to read it - as a mother of a three girls, two in their teens. How do you carry on with your life after something like that?

Surprising that something as sensitive as this is ever released to the media, surely at an inquest would be the most appropriate way.

I think that should have remained private too. Wow sounds like her Mother failed her there.

Yes, I was shocked to read them as well, but it sounds like she grew up with a very narcissistic mother, which does go some way to explaining what she did

I don't feel either daughter or mother is at fault in this. You never know in family relationships. People can see the same situation in utterly different ways with neither right or wrong. I certainly would not side with a young daughter's comments. Probably it is 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other.
Very sad for the parent left behind of course.

The US probably has more disclosure and less privacy in court matters than we do and I suspect they are all the better for that.

The poor girl. It sounds as though her mum's a Narc.

I read it differently tbh. I read it as symptomatic of a difficult relationship but not necessarily one in which the mother was at fault as such though the child's perception was that she was. Which is all the more unbearable tbh.

I read this story in the Daily Mail yesterday. I thought there was absolutely no public interest excuse for that prurient and slimy bit of reporting. Family relationships are not the stuff of throwaway entertainment.

This is a tragedy for all concerned, and publically making it the fault of the mother doesn't help anyone. Are we supposed to hope she has learned her mistake and does better in future?

I suspect it was released because this case involved the murder of a police officer. There is arguably public interest in knowing that he was murdered by them and then they committed suicide rather than vice versa for example. It just makes me feel so very sad though.
