Photonic Radar

www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-26665305#malaysianplane #missingplane

could be the change the world is looking for. I am not putting on my foil hat and saying what reading this made me think as I need to make a new one.

QueenStromba · 21/03/2014 10:52

Whoever asked if they would really ground all of the 777s of that model - don't forget that they grounded all of the Concords after one crashed.

Jjuice · 21/03/2014 10:58

BBC News - they have finally admitted lithium batteries were in the cargo -

10:50: Malaysian officials were also asked about the cargo list and a rumour that lithium batteries (considered unstable at altitude) were on board. They said confirmed some batteries were on board, but said they followed airline safety requirements and they were packaged properly

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 21/03/2014 10:59

"....Also an excellent opportunity to find out what radar capabilities lots of countries have"

W
This is why I think it's reasonable for countries to be circumspect about sharing radar data eg analysing their own and passing over results, not pooling all raw data.

DieselSpillage · 21/03/2014 10:59

Or....if it was shot down and then covered up, the Indian ocean would be a conveniently inaccessible place to suggest it had ended up.

ElenorRigby · 21/03/2014 11:07

I just went to have a peek at what people are saying about MH370 on the David Icke forums.
Guess what they are DOWN Shock

firstchoice · 21/03/2014 11:09

twas me asking re grounding 777's.

is it not a bit convenient that they are only now announcing that potentially unstable cargo was on board, even if it was properly packaged? Hmm perhaps if they had said that earlier though, everyone would have jumped on that as a 'cause'. Still a bit odd, 2 weeks in, to be announcing new cargo. I don't know how the relatives are staying upright tbh, esp if they have access to media (which I suspect they don't?).

DowntonTrout · 21/03/2014 11:14

Any significance to this "phone call pilot made from the cockpit" thing do you think?

They are investigating.

Why were the 2 fuzzy satelite photos the chinese came up with discredited, yet 2 equally fuzzy images from the back of beyond are credible evidence.. I smell a red herring...

AGnu · 21/03/2014 11:26

Diesel because one came from China & the other from the almighty, all-knowing Americans?!

TheHoneyBadger · 21/03/2014 11:29

that radar article reads like a bloody advert!! it's hard not to get tin-hatty about things.

TheHoneyBadger · 21/03/2014 11:30

firstchoice it's ALL a bit convenient in my mind. the whole thing over the last few days just feels so... staged.

DieselSpillage · 21/03/2014 11:32

Yes indeed and those all-knowing Americans are playing us..

Jjuice · 21/03/2014 11:33

My thoughts exactly Honey!!

AGnu · 21/03/2014 11:34

Personally, I can't see the harm in a couple of high profile governments releasing a short statement saying something along the lines of "We're supporting the search effort & will provide as much assistance as the Malaysians request. We're all hoping for a speedy resolution for all involved." At least it wouldn't feel like they were ignoring/avoiding talking about it!

AGnu · 21/03/2014 11:36

Unless that would be a lie...

Mimishimi · 21/03/2014 11:39

I do remember reading an article where one woman, who headed a firm that deals in aviation security, said that someone could have uploaded a code through the flight entertainment dock that somehow changed the course etc. Anyway, the sense I got from it, and a few other articles with similar theories, was that companies dealing in aviation security, satellite imagery (DigitalGLobe etc) are rubbing their hands with glee at all the extra contracts they will be getting. Just as with after 9/11.

Did the media ever follow up on the report by a New Zealander working on an oil rig near Vietnam that he saw a burning plane in the sky? Mackay I believe his name was.

SauceForTheGander · 21/03/2014 11:40

Yes Agnu - I'm very surprised there's not been a supportive official statement along the lines of "we are sending xxx planes / ships to assist in the search for this plane" -

The aviation industry is huge and this could damage business, confidence, generate fear - and I'm really surprised world leaders aren't lining up to say what they are doing to get to bottom of mystery. Unless I've missed it when they have?

DowntonTrout · 21/03/2014 11:43

Do you know what we would be saying if this was another thread on another subject?

Drip, drip, drip.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 21/03/2014 11:44

So do we think it is pure coincidence that the coordinates for Beijing airport, and the coordinates for where the plane possibly landed (give or take, allowing for it to overshoot a bit due to extra fuel) are the same, only with N and S transposed?

I think considering all the possible directions that the plane could have gone in, that coincidence is pretty massive.

NCISaddict · 21/03/2014 11:45

I think that the longer this goes on then the less likely anyone is going to find out what happened.

DieselSpillage · 21/03/2014 11:46

I think it's in the interests of said world leaders to have us all a little bit afraid; that way when we have the resulting radar, gps, ctv etc tracking of our every waking move we shall all be thankful to big brother

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 21/03/2014 11:51

For those who do not have google earth.

The first picture is Beijing international airport, located using the coordinates (top right corner)

The second picture is the same coordinates but with N transposed with S. allowing for the extra fuel that planes carry, thus the crash site being a bit further south, is it not a remarkable coincidence?

I cannot help but think this must be significant.

The report of the burning plane near Vietnam was discredited due to the Malaysian military radar putting it nowhere near there at the time - they reckon it must have been a meteorite or something.
