What on earth possesses teenagers to act in this way ? That poor little boy and what worries his parents must have given the nature of the weapon.

poor little boy, hope his blood tests come back clear.

I don't know Freckle. Thats a very very scary story. If those youths are found rest assured that they will get off with some sort of community service .

I do hope that the little boy is ok. This is another reason that my DS will not be allowed out on his own until he is 45.

It's very worrying. I'm beginning to think that kids today don't see other people as "real". Their their actions will have no consequenses for anybody either short or long term. It's almost like they see people as characters in a video game (I know computer games can't be blamed for their actions) and that others have no impact on their lives. As long as nothing happens to them, then that's alright. As soon as something does (eg granny hitting back youth who hit her and pushed her over) they go bleating to the police about abuse & their (in)human rights being violated.

What a dreadful story. I was only thinking yesturday the same thing 'whats's wrong with youth today', there has been some terrible things happening regarding teenage crime, the one with the cat being thrown repeatedly was awful too. This story is all over the news where I am from at the moment. This happened where I live.

thats just so awful. its just so so cruel - unprovoced and in such a horrific way... how can these people sleep at night?

alexa1 · 09/08/2006 14:30

UCM. I'm not letting my kids out until they are 45 either!! I told my mum earlier that I am dreading the time they start going out with friends and I have no idea of their whereabouts etc.
There really are some awful youths about today. Why are some so evil? Anyone have any answers?

The parents of these thugs are to blame as well, we get loads of them around here, as young as 7, wandering streets, causing trouble and parents do nothing, even when police are involved these thugs r back on streets straight away.
