The mind boggles .

Apparently the tyres didn't contribute to the crash. Hmmmm.

I know I was shocked when I saw it - how can 3 bald tyres not contribute to skidding on ice?

Tyres dispel liquid, and this crash was blamed on black ice . Police say that means the tyres didn't contribute.

Pathetic, isn't it. I am not a tyre / motor expert, but it doesn't, IMHO, make an awful lot of sense, though I appreciate I have no reason to doubt the police's findings. Anyway, you don't ride three tyres till they're bald without knowing it.

Snow / ice tyres do grip better on ice though, so I don't think the argument that it makes no difference holds tbh. Perhaps in this instance his driving at the time of impact was deemed to be OK IYSWIM.

Still smells very fishy.
