This is the first one I've seen. I don't understand how someone can be found guilty, then innocent, then guilty again. Seems a bit of a farce TBH.

I am very very surprised. Perhaps the Italian judiciary is represey fairly in Inspector Montalbano after all.

I thought she was found guilty then the verdict was set aside as correct procedures had not been followed and she was retried.

I suspect it's all academic anyway as she is not going to set foot in Italy voluntarily and I don't think the Americans are likely to send her back.

I really think it is a shocking miscarriage of justice and the ongoing persecution of two innocent people. It's made me feel really sad today
