Have a look here - ink that tells you when an egg is done...

I can boil an egg but I think that is so cool

HuwEdwards · 31/07/2006 14:38

Now there was someone on here this morning who boiled one for 26 mins..... or something, so maybe not

Fabulous innovation. I can't boil an egg because I can never be arsed to hang around and check when it starts boiling.

TinyGang · 31/07/2006 14:43

Oh sorry, but I think that's really good!

I can cook most things just fine, but actually I have got boiled eggs wrong before if they're extra large or a bit small My children have to have the yolk just right and dippy or it's thumbs down I'm afraid.

There! I admit it!

WE've got one of these , but I've never used it.

i seriously cant boil an egg. When DH wanted boiled egg one day we actually had to look it up on the net.

JessaJam · 31/07/2006 15:13

I can't...but ink wouldn't help me, as my problem is forgetting to check!!!

HAve now been officially banned from using saucepans as we are now down to just 2 left, of which one is fairly blackened

I can't boil an egg without getting my Delia "how to cook" out and looking it up - mind you I am monumentally crap in the kitchen

In fact I wrote out the instructions and stuck it inside the cupboard door where I keep the egg-cups but forgot to take it with me when I moved

my mum works in a kitchen at a retirement home. she has no qualifications, but her manager is a trained chef. so she was more than a little amused when he had to ask her how to boil an egg. she said she was very tempted to tell him to give it a squeeze and it was done when it went soft.
