I like that advert. How could anyone consider it racist?

southeastastra · 26/07/2006 14:11

i did think it was a bit controversial

Not too long ago, there was a 'tongue in cheek' advertisement for Egg, in which a Scotsman was selling bits of turf he'd sprayed w/white paint as parts of an historic golf course. In it, he quipped, 'English will buy anything'.

The ad was pulled for being derogatory.

But this one's okay b/c it mocks the Welsh.

Aren't there any Welsh MNers about today? They're - erm - not usually backwards at coming forward when they find something racially offensive

Moondog/Boris/PeachyClair/Martianbishop? Comments?

I didn't personally find it offensive as such, I thought it was quite funny, but it did cross my mind that it might be construed as a bit more risque than usual.

Moon's probably looking for this evening's bottle of wine and Boris is probably looking for another pair of footless tights .
