CSA to close!!

Just heard it on the radio. I know alot of people will think "about time" but I'm gutted really as the new agency that are taking over will apparently not be helping all parents just parents who don't get anything from the fathers (which is a good thing obviously) everyone else has to sort out their own arrangments, My ex I know will not give me anything now it took forever to get it sorted in the first place... Plus even if he will carry on paying what he has, he is in the falklands now until january, so as soon as they close I will not get anything again off him. GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Great news for the fathers that do pay up and a reasonable amount too that get hounded by theire ex's through the csa.
I know that lots of parents don't pay for the kids and that the csa have been useless for them but the ones that do often get totally and utterly abused by the system ime.
My dp pays a lot for his daughter (£140 per week plus we buy shoes/ winter coat/ holiday money etc) and he has been left with £17 from his wages for our ds and nothing for our dd. The csa have refused to review this and have instead taken us to a tribunal because his ex claims we have a lifestyle inconsistant with declared income, despite having no real grounds for it. Even our solicitor has no idea what they are now playing at, he describes the csa as a 'law unto themselves'.
The csa should be got rid of and something put in place that just makes sure that each parent makes a reasonable contribution to each of their children, no more, no less.

£140 a week that is terrible. I get £40 a week for 2 children and the ex is on £420 a week.

Well as one of the thousands of people who has been failed by the CSA I couldn't give a toss anymore, I doubt it will get any better but it sure as hell can't get any worse.

I couldnt care less tbh, DS is 10 and ex DP is supposed to pay £5 a week maintenance for him as he isnt working (he is but on the sly) and he hasnt paid a penny for 3 years, 2 months ago the CSA phoned me and asked me did I know where he was and could i phone him and ask him to get in touch
I havent seen the guy for nearly 3 years and dont want to get in touch so i said no.

First of all, don't panic as the CSA is not going to close immediately. The Government has issued a consultation paper in response to the Sir David Henshaw's report about the current CSA & how it could be improved.

Neena I agree with your comment about the csa being a 'law unto themselves'. My dp's ex stopped him seeing her son as soon as our first child was born. She has a bank account for him with thousands in it given to him by dp's parents - who, thanks to her, refuse to have anything to do with our children.
She gave the csa someone's phone number which they called and got whoever it was to pretend to be dp. They based their 'award' on completely incorrect information and that we have no chldren - we have 3!! We complained and it was being 'looked into'. That was 3 years ago. 2 days ago we got a bailiff letter through the door demanding that dp pays £7000 I am absolutely livid. From our point of view I can't wait for it to close. Just because dp's ex has a chid doesn't make her automatically the better person and little miss hard done by. She works full time, lives with Mummy and Daddy and has dp's mum running every time she clicks her fingers. We are drowning in debt and just been made homeless. I hate the csa with a passion.

The CSA has screwed my neighbour's son over royally. And he has no choice but to stump up b/c he's in the RAF and any mishaps could jeopardise his military career.

He's left w/£19/week to live on.

And hte cow doesn't want him to see his son - he has to go to court for that - she just wants the money.

She also has a daughter by another man and treated him the same way.
