Fusilier Rigby's killers convicted of murder

The correct verdict IMO.

I hope the family will find some kind of closure and that this verdict will not be seen as provocative to certain radical quarters.

The murderers were trying to defend their act as 'an act of war'

If they get less than a whole life tarrif I think people will be very angry.

We saw 35 years earlier this week for that paedophile. These 2 had better get more than that or the public will be outraged.

I am expecting a life sentence.

I don't think that these two crimes can be compared though.

The life sentence is mandatory, so there's no doubt about that.
It's the tarrif the judge sets that will be interesting.

The crimes are obviously very different but you can't look at sentencing in isolation, as it sends out the message about what society thinks about certain crimes.

I think that one of these murderers will get a whole life tarrif as the aggravating circumstances will be an unprovoked attack, no remorse, not pleading guilty, the victim was chosen because he represented a minority they hated etc. I wouldn't be surprised to see the other murderer getting sent to secure psychiatric hospital.
