In the trial prosecution evidence. Aha.

MadameDefarge · 26/11/2013 16:55

yup. Allegations. Allegedly.

pictish · 26/11/2013 16:55

I like the use of 'aha' in the OP, as though Nigella r=taking drugs explains everything.
Like fuck it does.

lemonmuffin · 26/11/2013 16:55

I don't hold any brief for CS, let me tell you!!

I just think that the truth, however unpalatable, has to come out.

TheCrackFox · 26/11/2013 16:55

Middle England used to be outraged by drugs 20yrs ago but most people don't really care anymore.

They still get outraged by wife beaters though.

EldritchCleavage · 26/11/2013 16:56

What truth, lemon?

What this thread offers is a great example of the DMesque philosophy that there are always two sides to every case of domestic violence.

Thank you LemonMuffin for your use of the word 'injustice' in reference to the plight of poor diddums CS, which should serve to remind everyone of the way the world works. Only the Virgin Mary would have any hope of getting away with filing for a divorce for 'unreasonable behaviour' of the sort captured on camera.

Rooners · 26/11/2013 16:59

and not far short of libel/contempt

lemonmuffin · 26/11/2013 17:00

I have no investment. And i am not sure of any facts.

I just think it might be worth considering that it's not always the man's fault.

I feel like putting your hand around someone's throat makes you a "bad guy" but that's just me. There's kind of no "maybe" about it when there are pics.

TheCrackFox · 26/11/2013 17:01

No, the Virgin Mary would have been vilified because she failed to attend to her wifely duties.

MadameDefarge · 26/11/2013 17:02

Its not like she is a sporting hero paraded as a role model for young people.

pictish · 26/11/2013 17:02

Any abuse is always the perpetrators fault.

Rooners · 26/11/2013 17:02

so you're seeking to promote men's rights in the face of overwhelming evidence of domestic abuse?

Okay

Scheriously · 26/11/2013 17:03

ALSO - it's headline news. Top headline. So that's fair, isn't it? There's no gender inequality here, she's being hung out to dry by the man who abused her. The UK media are just hilarious.

EldritchCleavage · 26/11/2013 17:03

We can probably discount the suggestion CS assaulted Nigella Lawson because he was enraged by her drug use, because the DM has reported:

Anthony Metzer QC, defending Elisabetta Grillo, said Saatchi told his lawyers: 'During our marriage I was unaware Nigella took drugs.'
But he said that Saatchi went on to say that he found out about the extent of her alleged drug taking as they were splitting up.

mathanxiety · 26/11/2013 17:03

I seriously want to puke now, LemonMuffin.

Wannabestepfordwife · 26/11/2013 17:04

If I was trinny woodhall's ex I would be doing everything in my power to stop my dd meeting cs. And I think trinny should have some concerns over how hell bent he seems to be on trying to destroy his ex

EldritchCleavage · 26/11/2013 17:05

Lemon, it's always your fault if you assault someone. There may be provocation, or mitigating circumstances, but fundamentally it is always your fault for using violence rather than walking away.
