here

is it just me, buty wouldnt steristrips have been better for a wound close to the eye rather than glue?

poor boy

i guess it would depend on the wound, maybe it needed more secure holding?

Misdee a wound assessment would have been done but glue is usually the best thing for forehead wounds, sometimes if it's so near the eye you wouldn't get closure with steristrips because ther'e not enough room to get the right tension. TBH I do feel terribly sorry for the little boy and it is obviously the nurses fault but I'm sure it was a genuine mistake, who's to say the boy didn't move just at the wrong time. I can't recall the number of times a glove has been inadvertently stuck to a would etc when a child has moved. It's still one of the best closures

Poor kid. Can you imagine how he's going to react in future if he ever has to have eye drops for anything. DS (2.5) had a wound right at the corner of his eye the other day which they glued, and took extra special care to make sure it wouldn't go in his eye - wrapped him up in a blanket so he couldn't struggle, and one nurse held his body, another held his head, and a third one actually put the glue on. Worked a treat, and they didn't put steristrips on - I don't think they would have stayed on long.

its just about his eyebrow isnt the cut?

i al always worried about glue and head wounds. dd1 has had steristrips for several head wounds and dd3 has had the glue. but her cut was near the hairline, dd1 cuts could've been glued, but they said they would use the strips as they werre nearer her eye.
