Libyan president kidnapped

According to Aljazeera and now BBC news. Where was his security team? Blimey.

Bloody hell.

The Arab Spring, already unravelled in Egypt, now seems to befalling apart here too.

As he was taken by what the BBC describe as 'armed men' (complete with inverted commas) it is quite possible, on info so far, that the security team were overwhelmed in a considerable firefight.

Latest from BBC

Some sources say it could have been the anti-crime department militia; and it's not clear whether he has been arrested or kidnapped.

Apologies, it's the Prime Minister who's been seized by armed men, not the President. It's not clear whether he's been kidnapped or arrested.
