mummytojames I don't think that getting fruit and veg vouchers will be beter for you. An extra £2.80 (in fact far more than that) a week in cash might, but it's just tyopical of this government to try to dictate to people on benefits what those benefits should be spent on. Do you not think it's patronising and paternalistic for them to dole out money and say "now here's what you spend on fruit, and her's your money for milk, and this is the money you can use for you rent" rather than allowing you to make your own decisions, and ensuring that everybody gets the education and support to allow them to make the "right" ones?
(And reading back my earlier post I'm sorry if it sounded like I was being patronising - I didn't mean to at all and know that cooking ability/mothers who teach/appreiation of food isn't limited to any one group of people)
