linknews.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3492939.stm\free vouchers{} for fruit and veggies for low income familes. What do you think?

Excuse ME, but DH here again.
I think you lot have REAL problems. The way you carry on stinks. My wife has kindly asked you to stop talking about her problems, but you refuse point blank. I never wanted her to get on this stupid site in the first place, but she stupidly decided to air our dirty laundry and now it appears she is paying the price. Please leave her alone, I thought the 'Thread' was suposed to be about fruit and veg, not vilifying someone because you dont happen to agree with his/her point of view. You are very obviously very sad people with nothing better in your lives than idle chit chat and gossip. I hope you ALL, have a very happy life and I for one will not miss this crud.

JanH · 23/02/2004 20:55

??????

Hello? What took this thread off-topic in the first place? And who did it?

misdee · 23/02/2004 20:58

i am sickened. u sound like an arrogant sod mr lavender. the fact u didnt want your wife on here says to me your a controlling git anyway. in fact, because of your attitude i am seriously thinking of not posting for a while.

misdee · 23/02/2004 21:00

yup it was levender who took it off topic with all this bettering yourself stuff.

excuse me while i go and look for a minmum paid job again.

lou33 · 23/02/2004 21:07

Can we please remember the title of this thread? It would be a better idea if a new thread is started for another topic, imo.

Lavender, if you don't want anyone talking about your personal details, maybe it would be best if you didn't/don't mention them again.

This is a place to support each other, so can we get back to doing that everyone, please?

lou33 · 23/02/2004 21:08

Also, best thing to do with inflammatory comments is to ignore them. The less attention the better.

JanH · 23/02/2004 21:10

sorry, mum

stupidgirl · 23/02/2004 21:10

Personally I'm amazed that this is still going on. I hate to jump in and tell people what they should be doing, but I really think it's time to let this lie. I hate it when these things get in to bad feeling.

misdee · 23/02/2004 21:12

yup, i've had enuff of it too. lets move onto something new. anyone get a fag?

lou33 · 23/02/2004 21:13

I might have to put my big moderator hat on soon, then you'll all be scared .

JanH · 23/02/2004 21:14

is that like Peter Kay's big light?

JanH · 23/02/2004 21:15

"eee, put big hat on, our mother"

misdee · 23/02/2004 21:15

i love peter kay. he cracks me up.

lou33 · 23/02/2004 21:16

That's priviliged information.

juniper68 · 23/02/2004 21:19

Blimey, I've been mesmerised with this thread! I popped on earlier today and ended up reading all the postings. I didn't realise men would be interested in mumsnet, I know my DH wouldn't be (though he might 'pretend' to be lol)
If I were entitled to the vouchers I'd take them and wouldn't let it affect my vote. There's no way I'd let this government back in but I'll not go there
I think fruit is expensive and should be cheaper in supermarkets, veg too, as not many mums can carry it home from the markets. My DH has a good job and I find it expensive.

JanH · 23/02/2004 21:27

For various reasons I often visit our Sainsburys at c 5.30-6pm and get some v cheap produce if I'm lucky - today I got a bag of K Edwards for 10p and a bag of Grannies for 30p (it helps to lurk around the person with the reduction pricing gun!) On Friday I got 2 bags of purple sprouting broccoli for 30p (they were on BOGOF).

Mind you ours closes at 8pm, 24-hour ones probably hold off on reductions until even later, but if you can go late on it can be worth it - I got a 1kg Taste The Difference pork joint for £2.50 too.

lou33 · 23/02/2004 21:29

A fellow stalker , hoorah! We do the same. Makes the assistant v uncomfortable.

lilibet · 23/02/2004 21:35

7.30 in our local Sainsbury's and its a pen, not a gun. My ds2 knows to try and find 'the man with the magic pen'. I have been known to stand there and wait. Or worse still, give him back the stuff that I had already got reduced in my basket so it can be further reduced!! Does any one else do the bogof things and get money back? For example if apples for £2 are on a bogof but you get two reduced bags for 50p each then Sainsburys credit you with £1!!

misdee · 23/02/2004 21:36

my dh used to have that job on SM3 at safeway. my mum was one of the people who used to follow him round the stopre to get bargains.

lilibet · 23/02/2004 21:36

btw Juniper my dp loves it here and posts, it does say by parents for parents, it's not just mums!

hercules · 23/02/2004 21:39

Noone disputes that!

JanH · 23/02/2004 21:39

ah yes, lilibet, but your DP is just lovely! (Don't tell him I said so though, he'll be embarrassed! )

hercules · 23/02/2004 21:40

oops sorry , didnt read junipers message properly

JanH · 23/02/2004 21:42

Ooops, just realised that makes it sound as if juniper's DH might not be lovely and I'm sure he is!

hercules · 23/02/2004 21:43

Can we please keep on the title of this thread!
