I've tried typing something to express my utter disgust at this but I can't even put together a coherent sentence. He has already tried to smear this woman by claiming she was 'unhinged' and because of her background shouldn't be believed in what she said about him. Except he was shown up to be the liar, not her, after footage of him sitting close to her was found, confirming he was on the same show as her (supporting her story/laying bare his contempt and pathetic attempt to smear already). What exactly does he think he'll gain from this? Does he seriously think taking this action will somehow restore his reputation? The word 'deluded' springs to mind.

He's 70. What "career" is he hoping to build at this age? Shouldn't he be raking in his pension and playing golf, rather than attempting to persuade people he's a decent person.

I know! If he's struggling financially now because he can't 'find work' then maybe he should have planned his retirement better

There will be a number of other celebrities watching and waiting and hoping that the fear of a response like this will put off any women from stepping forwards after years to say they were abused and assaulted.
Or those who have done may decide to retract.

Agreed. I'm utterly appalled at this story on a number of levels. She was pivotal in kicking off the whole investigation into not just Saville but others, and this just smacks of desperation with malice on his part. I couldn't give a flying fuck about his 'career' or 'reputation' tbh.

He is completely evil to do this. Not only does he lie about her but now tries to sue her? Words fail me.

Hope they throw this out of court, for the very reasons SilverApples has highlighted.
