That is pretty vile. I wonder if the residents of Kingston are especially fond of wet wipes or whether we are all sitting on top of a mountain of fat and wet wipes.

I felt a bit sorry for it.

Obvious hive of take away food and babies, Kingston upon Thames Smile

Mrsrobertduvall · 06/08/2013 17:44

I live near there but would like it known I never flush fat down a sink or use a wetwipe. Grin

VivaLeBeaver · 06/08/2013 17:49

I used to clear blocked sewers and I used to love big lumps of fat like this.....though never seen one that big. It's very satisfying to be able to scrape or jet them off.

Mrsrobertduvall · 06/08/2013 18:09

Well, who would have guesssed that's what you used to do?
I imagine it must be satisfying, like a beautician squeezing blackheads.

Mrsrobertduvall · 06/08/2013 18:26

It is on the local news at the moment.
Imagine your sewers backing up........

A plumber told me he's never had so much work since companies started selling 'flushable' wipes.

HarrietSchulenberg · 06/08/2013 23:12

Wow. Looks like something out of Dr Who. Just hanging there, all malevolent like.

ManifestoMT · 07/08/2013 07:51

That will bugger up all the drainage modelling when it's removed.
The risk of flooding will reduce dramatically
Geek speak sigh

hackmum · 07/08/2013 09:21

Revolting! But surely companies shouldn't be allowed to sell flushable wipes if they do this much damage?

And people really need educating about not putting fat down the sink.

specialsubject · 15/08/2013 10:18

looks like people need educating about the difference between plumbing and bins.

nothing goes into the toilet except body waste and toilet paper. Nothing goes down the sink except water. Not rocket science..
