Guantanamo suicides a 'PR move' says top US Official

A top US official has described the suicides of three detainees at the US base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as a "good PR move to draw attention".

And:
"This was not an act of desperation, but an act of warfare waged against us" said the Camp commander.

I find this so incredibly shocking I just don't know what to say.

those were my thoughts too (didn't see the pr bit, just the "act of warfare" )

just goes to show the mentality of some in the us military, I fear.

It's awful

We should be invading America

I'm going to join Amnesty International in support of their work against Guatanamo

Fillyjonk's MIL point is very well-made.

So it wasn't anything to do with being imprisoned without trial and not knowing if you would ever be released! Angry Angry
