It makes me despair that the DM's crap works in the first place.

Surely it's obvious that a large number of people will move onto sickness benefits and then off again as they get better?

Or do DM readers never work again after their hernia ops, broken legs, fortunate recovery from cancer, etc, and judge the rest of the world as they live themselves?

I'm glad they've had to admit the lie is a lie but I doubt very much they've given it great prominence. The false impression has been created and will live on. It would be something if I could believe in karma and hope that Grant Shapps will face some sort of retribution for his willful, spiteful, shameful lies about the vulnerable. But I doubt it, sadly.
