I don't post much at the moment but after reading this via some random Twitter link earlier, can't stop thinking about the wee one and her mum - feel the need to wail at MN.

Hit and run accident stories are so chilling.

A twitter search shows that someone has posted that she is making "significant improvements"; hopefully that's accurate.

Those poor people. Something like that will normally enrage the community, and the bastards responsible will be found, but it doesn't take away her or her mums suffering.

Hi this little girl is a friends daughter.

It's is awful what has happened to her but she has started to get better.
Where we live everyone is appealing for more information, it is absolutely disgusting what these people have done to her and people are covering for them
Hopefully they will see the pictures and hand themselves in!

Awful, awful accident. But what is the issue being discussed? The cause of the accident or the not stopping aspect? The accident seems to have been caused by the mother not crossing the road properly with her little one. And for not stopping, of course it's absurd not to if you hit someone. But what is the offence here exactly? I think the RTA talks of 'failing to stop' regarding motor vehicles. Not sure where it lies for cyclists.

Panonabike they were motorbikes. Not cyclists.

There were 3 people on illegal motorbikes, all 3 hit her..all 3 failed to stop!! (Even after hitting her and dragging down the road)
Her mother had just got off the bus with her when this had happened.
The riders had followed the bus from one village to another as one of the riders girlfriends was on it after leaving school.
The mother of Olivia was just crossing the road like everyone else who uses that stop.

I will do thank you, it's amazing the support the family have had since the accident.

So you know who they were, then? Good. Shouldn't be long before they're in custody.

Really hope her sight comes back and that they find these bastards.

If people know a girlfriend was on the bus it sounds like they'll soon get them.

2 have been arrested, I cannot give out too much information as I want to respect my friend and her family but I know there is more information on Bbc, calendar, Sheffield and local news websites.
I would link but I'm not sure how to on the ipad.

It looks like they should be able to trace them seeing as the girlfriend of 1 of them was on the bus they were following. When they are caught I trust that these illegal bikes will be siezed and scrapped. If the riders of the bikes are under age I hope that their parents are prosecuted as well for aiding and abetting.

Poor poor family :( I hope the net closes in on those responsible and that Olivia feels all the love and support and healing energy from everyone around her and and uses it to fight back,

fender, I hope you do get justice and that Olivia makes a full recovery, poor little love. What those lads did is appalling.
