If delayed cord cutting becomes the norm, does this mean no more cord blood banking?

Interesting to read though - apparently 1/3 babies blood in placenta/cord when born. Presumably early cutting means baby loses 1/3 blood - that seems an awful lot...

It says if the mother chooses to have the injection to deliver the placenta then the cord should still be cut immediately though. I think most women have the injection, with my first three they just gave me the injection without asking.

This is really interesting. I was given the injection without having been asked first, too. I just assumed they had a good reason

Definitely going to look into this (if the guidelines haven't been updated by the time my baby comes) and add it to my birthplan if it makes sense. 1/3 of the baby's blood? Wow.

I've read about lotus births, and the supposed benefits that these babies get from not having their cord cut at all. Never considered it for myself though.
