Mrs Justice Thirwell, the one woman he couldn't defeat picks through all the politics and the fighting over motive and benefits etc and gets to the heart of the matter.....his absolute motive which was to control the women in his life. As Grace Dent says, the odds of a female judge hearing this case were against him but he got one....and what she had to say in her summing up looked closely at his attitude and relationships with women.
Far better than all the mud-slinging that the papers did regarding the benefit system. His real motive was power and control and he would have been the same regardless f what help he did or didn't get from the State.
