BBC The Papers commentary say the DM are giving readers what they want. Is this what you want? Lambasting teachers?

I think it is horrible - just another nail in the coffin for that rag.
Does society really hate teachers or has it been orchestrated by extreme right as I deem DM to be?

With all due respect, I don't think you've understood. The DM is the voice of reason (for 2.5m people : the BBC, teachers and people who won't be attending or watching next Wednesday's Royal shindig are a load of Marxist tossers, poisoning the young with their toxic ideas.

It is not reasonable to target teachers - people who are doing a service for this country. The country is made up of 60 million why do so few , get such a loud shout? Because most of us are not so aggressive.

Protest is allowed under democracy and it sends a message that many did not think MT was a generous woman and that she has deeply affected the fabric of our society in some negative ways. In a way it is a testamont to her that so many people have reactions negative or positive.

I would not join a death party, nor would I berate teachers in such a blatant, scapegoating, prejudicial way. I'm sure I'm not alone in being appalled at the lack of good manners.- equally as upsetting as those who hate the MT passing parties.

The main headline implies both 'teachers of hatred' are from 'Miliband's school' (I wasn't aware he's involved in staff recruitment?). The article later informs us that Ms Blythe works in Brighton and Mr Parr 'resigned' from Haverstock School in February.

These articles are giving the idea that schools are like some Al Qaeda terrorist camp (and god knows most dm readers don't need any encouragement!).

Its next campaign after State funeral? Beatification. I bet they've already got the application form from the pope.

I agree Ipad, it gives the impression that schools are a hot bed of left wing politics. This fits with the agenda to create a "facts" based non inquiry education where children are fed right wing dogma, propaganda and carefully selected facts. The right wing do not want the children of working class people to be educated, they want docile workers, willing to work for peanuts without complaint. They do not want intelligent critical thinkers to emerge at the end of the process.

Quite franky I would prefer that those who's morality and consideration are inverted to the degree demonstrated were nowhere near my children, irrespective of their profession or politics and not for any other reason than their behaviour is disgusting.

Interesting, that "Ding Dong the witch is dead" is now no1 on itunes - so there is a popular revolt against Thatcher and as Murdoch says he is not a conservative but a Thatcherite, I presume they feel angry that others do not share their sentiments.

That said - respect soon after someone dies is what most measured people would offer - that doesn't take from those that feel her ism needs reacting against.

The problem with the population as a whole showing respect might be that those at the mail and the torries make this about a wider consensus for their politics. It would be wrong not to criticise Thatcher's politics and to look back on her as some sort of saint or icon.

People wonder why Lenin is still on display, I wonder too and I wouldn't want to see a situation where respect for human life translates into a whitewashing and rewriting of history. So that respect for human dignity in death becomes a silencing tactic used to stop people disagreeing with right wing politics.

For the record I am not singing ding dong or celebrating lest anyone should think I am. Thatcher's ideas live on, it's her ideas that need challenging.

She was on 15k a year and had made racist, homophobic and foul mouthed comments on twitter. Do you really want someone like that representing young people and getting paid what most teenagers could only dream of to do so?

the Daily Mail will do anything to discredit teachers, unfortunately it is not the only paper to do so. Many stories that are purportedly about teachers are about TAs, or those who run random workshops (such as the woman in question) but it does not sound as sensational.

I do however question the morals of anyone joyously celebrating the death of an octagenarian who has been out of power for over 20 years.

The problem with the Mail is its tendency to personalise stories. (This is also its appeal, of course - it's much more interesting to read stories about real individuals than to read about ideas in the abstract.)

The trouble is, it's not a fair fight. Imagine how it feels to be one of those individuals that the Mail suddenly turns against - to know that millions of people are reading and believing that stuff about you and you don't have a way of answering back. Whatever you think about Paris Brown's tweets, she is just a 17-year old girl, and that kind of hounding in a national newspaper must have been upsetting, not to say terrifying - particularly in these days of social media when everybody picks up on it and it's all over Facebook and Twitter and people start sending you hate messages.

It would have been nice to think that the Mail learnt some restraint after what they did to Lucy Meadows, but it would seem not.

Well I only went into teaching to ruin children's lives.
