Why no thread about Amanda Holden today?

Just came here from another site (one that's not very popular on MN at the moment ) to see what Mumsnetters would have to say about her, to find that everyone is being oddly....quiet. What's going on?

Thanks . I'm not in UK (we just got up) so perhaps missed the early morning frothing. I was wondering if it was because no MNer will now admit to reading the Paper-That-Shall-Not-be-Named.

I think she Googled herself, read some of the more scathing critical comments about herself and then flounced (maybe there is a post in Flouncer's Corner? ). She can't honestly think that 100% of people would agree with her career decision? People come here to bitch about debate totally trivial and shallow celebrity matters issues that affect parents ...there's tons of criticism and fiery debate over issues but also loads of support and lots of unmumsnetty hugs when you need them....it's not the Amanda Holden fan club, is it?

Bit of a coincidence that there is a story in the Mail hating on MN after our objections last week to that despicable headline. They couldnt come right out and say it for themselves so they used a celeb to do it for them right before the new series of BGT is due to start so they needed to rev that particular publicity engine.
Obviously a case of "you scratch our back and we will scratch yours"
