I don't think they can take the risk that some of the thieves and their mates will get in as well as the original ticket holders. Liverpool fans know how important that is better than anyone.

surely they know the seat numbers, they reallocate them with DIFFERENT numbers but refering to the original seats no??

H ha ha ha ha - can say that now DP just received his tickets for next wednesday in Paris - he was sooooo scared they had been nicked as well - been ranting about f'ing theiving scallies all night!!! (mind you why a liverpool fan would want his tickets I have no idea!!!)

should be something they can do - even if it needs proof of ID at the gate in Cardiff. They were bought by season ticket holders so they could show their season ticket and other proof maybe.

Seems such a shame as there are so few tickets for the clubs (about 24,000 each club) that not all season ticket holders can get them, and then to tell people who got them that they can't go through no fault of their own seems harsh.

1600 extra people in one place is a lot. Can you imagine the 1600 genuine ones, then 1600 coming in with the stolen ones, all fighting about getting evicted etc etc. Nightmare.

I used to work in the ticketing industry and we issued duplicates but in say, 4's or 6's, and no more than maybe 50 or so a show.

1600?

Awful for the fans but I can see why they are doing it.

Will look odd on the tv though, big empty block.

zubb · 11/05/2006 11:43

The people who lost the tickets will get tickets now from the ballot that they were going to hold on extras returned to Liverpool. So the people who lost them don't lose out but there will still be empty seats.

katzg · 11/05/2006 11:46

can thye just re issue the tickets but make them a different colour - 1600 empty seats seems a bit daft to me!

Mum2Ela · 11/05/2006 11:49

Personally wouldn't chance re-issuing the seats, knowing what nutters some football fans are.

Its gonna be nitemarish in Cardiff Saturday, but i'm going in, not to the footie but to see Texas :)
