Just read this story, and have to say it really sparks the imagination. Can you imagine what it must have looked like? Surreal!
---------

Rapper Snoop Dogg has been arrested after a disturbance at Heathrow airport.

The US star was detained by police when a row broke out after his 30-strong entourage was refused entry to the British Airways first-class lounge at the airport's Terminal 1.

His party was then alleged to have moved to a duty-free shop where it was said they threw bottles of whisky to the floor and argued with staff.

Police were called to the airport and were escorting the group away from the scene when a further disturbance broke out, Scotland Yard said.

Seven officers received minor injuries - mainly cuts and bruises - and one suffered a fracture to the hand.

Six men aged in their 30s, including Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, 34, were arrested on charges of violent disorder and affray.

The spokesman added: "The men, who are all US citizens, are in custody at two west London police stations."

Snoop and his group were due to board a flight to Johannesburg, South Africa, before the row broke out.

In 1993, he was tried and acquitted for murder - the same year he found fame with debut album Doggystyle.

Since then he has also become a movie star, appearing in the Starsky and Hutch remake, and has even been invited to speak at the Oxford Union.

Ooh, should have given credit that the story is from the Evening Standard.

I heard about this on the radio this morning. totally agree - bizarre mental images of 30 gangster rapper types rampaging through Heathrow!

oliveoil · 27/04/2006 13:17

He has a great drawly rapping voice but is a hideously sexist pig

Earlybird · 27/04/2006 13:19

OO - agree completely, and am continually amazed at the women who are willing and even eager to debase themselves in his videos.

agree he is hideous. imagine if you came home to find something like him lazing around on your couch, and your daughter announced him as her new bf

what i want to know is, why did they get refused entry to the BA lounge in the first place?

now i must go and ask my mother what its like when you come home and your daughters bf is lazing around on your couch....

Caligula · 27/04/2006 13:48

He sounds like an out of control child, not a fully grown man.

There is something wrong with our culture that grown up children like him are so glorified.

Megglevache · 27/04/2006 13:52

He tried to woo my friend - was quite taken by her.
I think that story is such dross.

nailpolish - Complete speculation, but I imagine they were refused entry because only first class ticket holders have access to the first class lounge. While some of their party might have had those tickets, I'm certain that most of them didn't (weren't there 30 in the group?). No idea if a first class ticket holder can bring a guest with them though....

thanks earlybird Grin

i would love one day to see the inside of the BA first class lounge. dh and i hang around trying to see if the seats really are made of rabbit fur, the 'water' fountain is indeed champagne, and which celebs are inside Grin

MagicGenie · 27/04/2006 14:24

His image is all an act. He's a happily married bloke with kids. More fool the idiots who try and emulate him.

I defy anyone not to enjoy his performance in Starsky and Hutch.

Plus he was bloody fantastic at T in the Park and Live Aid.

You can only enter the BA first class lounge if you possess a first class ticket.

Bad enough this pathetic bunch of tossers caused havoc in the duty free lounge (there is a small duty free shop located between the first and Club World lounges for these pax) but at least they were not on the plane.

Nailpolish - have heard that First class lounge (not that I've ever been in it either) is even nicer than the CW lounge in T1 which is in itself lovely.

agree that he is a pathetic sexist pig, always going on about how great it is to be a pimp - I always thought pimping was despicable.
Glad he got chucked out of 1st class - let's face it , he has none ( class, that is).
