I read a really heartbreaking story today, about a homeless man who is heartbroken after having his dog stolen - here; it just made me feel so sad.

Please if you live in Oxfordshire or around can you share and pass on this story.

I really hope they are reunited. Sad

Some of the comments on that article are just vile

MrsPresley · 05/01/2013 18:54

Agree with everything mynameis said Sad

OP, I cant help at all as I'm in Scotland but maybe post this on one of the busier boards like Chat.

Hope the poor dog is found Sad

Sharing on Facebook usually gets news stories spread well.

Really hope he gets his dog back x

Very sad

CommanderShepard · 05/01/2013 19:14

I live in Oxford and this story is very well known - everyone I know is on the lookout. So sad :(

LiftWantedAroundTheWorld · 05/01/2013 19:18

Oh poor poor man :(

Dogs are so very important to homeless owners, they are real lifesaver to some in fact. I used to sleep rough and knew many others who would openly say that their dog was what kept them going day after shitty day.

Can't bear to read the comments. I assume its people criticising the man for having a dog which is just plain wrong. Most homeless dog owners take the utmost care of their friend, many will actually go without a lot of help as most hostels won't take dogs and these days you often can;t access other services if you aren't in a hostel.

It is going round on Facebook.

Glad to hear Commander that it's known about in the Oxford area and people are looking out.

Mynameis, yes some of the comments on there are hideous. Some people have no idea.

Thank you for your comments everyone. This just saddened me loads today.

I read the link, and most of the comments, before anyone posted on here. I even mentioned it to DH. I just didn't post anything until now.

LiftWantedAroundTheWorld · 05/01/2013 19:52

Reposted this to the Doghouse as well for anyone working in rescue etc locally

Selks · 05/01/2013 20:21

Thanks Liftwanted.

Sorry Kendod. I shouldn't have suggested that nobody was interested.
