I saw his Long Way Round programme and he seemed to fall in love with Mongolia. I think this is a lovely story.

I do love Ewan - but I hope he's going to stick around for a while and help out! I felt sorry for his wife when he buggered off round the world (and he also did polar bears in Alaska, plus all the films he makes) - and I'm sure I read he was planning another mammoth bike ride with Charley Boorman. So he'd better not just up sticks and leave poor Eve with three kids to look after! He was very moved by the plight of the kids he saw while filming Long Way round - I remember those poor little mites that lived in the sewers

A spokesman for British actor Ewan McGregor has confirmed that he and wife Eve have adopted a baby girl from Mongolia. It is reported that Ewan met the little girl two years ago while filming his global motorbike tour. Ewan and Eve have two daughters, Clara, 10, and Esther, 5. It has been revealed that the couple were denied an adoption in 2004 which involved a 3 year old girl called Jamiyantsetseg. Upon learning that the adoption had been denied he agreed instead to pay for her living and school expenses in Ulan Bator until she was 16.
