Its on SKY. Max Clifford allegedly handed over private docs to the NOTW that Paul Burrell had given him to prevent bad press.

No such thing as loyalty when money is involved!

I'm beginning to think this is too neat and tidy to be true. Its almost as though they are trying to totally discredit MC so that if he is ever called as a witness for other court procedures with all the info he has, his evidence will be torn apart as he is seen to be dodgy himself.

The thing that seems significant to me in terms of the lessons to be learned from this investigation is, as that officer said, the power of the victims who came forward. IMO I think it turns on its head the arguments about granting anonymity to those accused. Where there are multiple victims, there is corroboration, and you can only encourage people to come forward if they know they will be listened to and believed. I think the Stuart Hall arrest has been made public for this very reason, and it's important to be able to appeal for other victims to come forward. I really do think this should change how future allegations and investigations are treated and managed by the police/CPS etc.

i agree and for me it throws massive questions marks over the motives of those who were pushing for anonymity of those accused. not being able to appeal to those who could corroborate accusations means not being able to get enough evidence to go to prosecution often. it also means that an accused person could have accusations over years and no one in the public would be able to put those accusations together and say hang on a bloody minute this is one hell of a pattern.

essentially it would help with getting away with it (in terms of the accused and those who protect them) and keeping secret that you are doing so.

will be interested to see what comes of that lockedout. if arrests are made of current mps it may restore a little smidge of confidence that power does not equal immunity in this country. and a tad of confidence that women and children do matter actually and when you talk of the 'public interest' you're actually including our interest in that umbrella term rather than just that of establishment men.

I'm quite surprised she hasnt paid up but why should she when she only asked a question.

I've seen that the film 'unlawful Killing' has been distributed all over the internet today which is a strange. Bet the Queen and Phillip are none too pleased!

There seems to be an awful lot going on at the moment.

The Keith Allen one that was shown at Cannes but they refused to release it here unless they made over 90 cuts to it.

Its about the alleged royal cover up over the death of Diana and Dodi.

Swallowed Anya crossed fingers that they go for it , but after the finucane debacle today I wouldn't hold my breath.

Mrsewing I'm not a fan of Bercow but I would give her a £5 rather than macalpine.
It will at least hopefully get some ground rules out.
If papers can get away with putting a story out about a secret celebrity and then putting a unrelated story with a picture on the same page off the same secret celebrity then Sally should be able to say a surname.

I do hope you understand what I mean . It's late
