Not heard anything since, did they all survive?

some of them have come out of hospital but I think 2 are definitely still in (heard mumbled report on the news)

They've come out of hospital, but I wonder if they've "recovered".

Only one is still in a critical condition, and he is improving. The others seem fine, but are being closely monitored. On BBC news website yesterday, I think.

3 went home yesterday, two are still recovering, and the last is still in a critical condition.

I'd like to know what they mean by "recovering" though.

When they say recovering, they mean they're not dying anymore. But not dying isn't the same as being healthy, hearty and raring to go, as they were before they took the drugs. I know people who live in their own homes who can't walk, make a cup of tea for themself or answer the phone. I wonder if these men are in that condition, or if they have really recovered, or will do so in future.
