ASBO for 12 year old twins

I read \link{http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/4849538.stm\this} and I my first thought was, "where are the parents?"

Am I alone in thinking that too many unfortunate children have been dealt a poor start in life because their so called parents cannot give a hoot or is that too simplistic?

As a child, I always remember that the kids at school who gave the most problems were the ones with the unsettled homelife.

i think its too simplistic. there could be many factors. parents being only one.

It isn't too simplistic as parents are the biggest influence especially at that age.

You can see, on my road alone which is all HA accommodation which parents have a handle on their children's behaviour and who doesn't give a damn. And it doesn't matter about being single parent or a couple as there are plenty of children around here with both parents and neither of them are of any good despite both being "unemployed."

And that is echoed everywhere. If parents aren't willing or able to do their part then no matter how much interference from the do-good section the poor kids are lost.

Did I read that article correctly? ASBO applies during school hours and not during school holidays!
